Lino-prints
It was during art lessons at school where I was introduced to printing with lino-cuts. I remember finding the lino hard to carve but still enjoying the process and the final print. My first lino-cut which I can recall even now, was a print for a Christmas card. It was of a cat looking out of the window on a snowy night with a deer in the distance. I did not come back to lino-cutting again until around 2016. I took a refresher course at a well known printing studio near me. Even after the first lesson I discovered that enjoyment once again. I use the Blue Boy Printing Press and favor Japanese block printing paper. My favourite tools to use are grey lino, Cranfield relief inks and Pfeil cutting tools. The whole process is messy and frustrating but also incredibly rewarding.
